Blind Monk Amber Ale

Named after Jian Zhen, a Chinese monk who dedicated his life to sharing Buddhism with Japan, the Blind Monk Amber Ale is a collaboration project between Great Leap and Baird Beer. The Blind Monk features Sichuan peppercorns, Japanese sansho, Qingdao flower hops and caramelized brown sugar. The beer is a true collaboration, incorporating signature ingredients from China and Japan, as well as unique ideas from both brewmasters. The original batch was brewed in Japan in 2014, and the second round brewed in Beijing in 2016.
